KNX Insight

KNX Insight

Insight is a modern KNX visualisation and control range covering everything you need to build a flexible display system. It includes a powerful editor, elegant wall mounted touch displays, smartphone applications, secure remote access, and a managed system for multiple display heads.

Insight Editor

The Insight Editor is a web application that can be found on both the KNX Edge and the Insight displays. This means you don't have to install custom software on your PC or worry about moving configurations into applications or devices. It also means you can connect your phone app directly to an Insight device without having to worry about installing configuration details, making it easy for guest access.

Zones and Functions

The Insight editor is based on the concept of zones, where a zone can be a building, a floor, a room or an outside area, or even guest access. Each zone can itself contain multiple zones, for example, a Building with Rooms, as well as functions, such as Lights, Blinds etc. Zones can be tagged with access information which is used by a display to control access to the project. In this way you can have a top level view, say all the rooms in the building, plus a room specific level view for a room controller all in the same project.

RNX-D1

D1 stands for Display 1 and is our flagship display model. It features a high quality seven inch capacitive touchscreen and powerful hardware to ensure a fluid and responsive user experience.

The RNX-D1 connects directly to KNX and does not require an external KNX interface or router. It also supports TCP/IP, and can support multiple external smartphone connections. Secure remote connections are possible via the KNX Anywhere portal.

Installation requires a 120mm round hole to hold the backplate. The display component snaps onto the backplate and can be easily replaced. If using the KNX Edge to hold the configuration, a replaced display will be auto-configured on replacement once the IP Address of the KNX Edge is entered. If the configuration is held on the RNX-D1, it is possible to download it, and upload it to the new device.

Multiple RNX-D1s can be used in an installation and can also act as room controllers using the Insight access control feature, where it is possible to display a single zone of the project (for example, a guest bedroom).
